Raja Krishna Menon attempt to convert the biggest human evacuation tale on the screen is successful. The Airlift is successful in converting the situation of the 1990 war in Kuwait. There is a huge list of producers of Airlift. It seems that producers will be successful to earn some big money by Airlift. The role played by Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, Kumud Mishra, and Inaamulhaq has big impact. Especially, Inaamulhaq playing the negative role as Major Khalaf Bin Zayd is best in the whole film. Also, the Nimrat Kaur playing the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife has also done a good performance.

Akshay Kumar did all types of films and characters, in the Airlift, he is playing the role of Ranjit Katyal a Kuwait-based businessman. He can be seen using his negotiation and business skill to help the Indians stuck in Kuwait. Now, I am going to review Airlift.

Airlift Review - The Biggest Human Evacuation Tale

Story of Airlift

Airlift is based on the true event of biggest human evacuation from Kuwait to India. Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar) is a big businessman in Kuwait. He almost forgets his country India. In 1990, when Iraq invades Kuwait, they start killing all the Kuwaitis there. The Kuwaiti government hast been demolished and the ruler of Kuwait runs away leaving their whole country. When Ranjit knows about it, he goes outside to check if his family can go to London. In a checkpoint, the driver of Ranjit is shot and Ranjit Katyal is taken in front of the Iraqi Major Khalaf Bin Zayd (Inaamulhaq). The major told him that Indians are friends of Iraq and they will not kill them. He also offers Ranjit to pay money and leave the country with his family. Now, looking at the situations, Ranjit has changed his mind. He started thinking about the 170000 Indians instead of only thinking about his own family.

He establishes the camp and started living with all the Indians talking about their situation with Indian external affairs officers. Later, he makes many attempts to evacuate all the peoples. Ranjit his family and other 170000 Indians could reach the safe place or not, you need to watch the film to know more.

Audience Response in Cinema Hall

It is a cold morning and I watched the first show of 10.15. In the cinema hall, 8 rows were completely filled and remaining 7 were empty. It was little larger crowd than I expected. Normally, in the morning show, this much crowd doesn’t appear in Cinema hall. This is certainly the magic of Airlift. The audience were enjoying the simple comedy situations in the film and they were also curious to know what is happening next. When the Indian flag shows they welcomed it with whistles and claps.

Major Khalaf Airlift

The film is successful in creating a war sequence plot. The whole film keeps you stick to question that how all these peoples will reach to India. The characters were selected wisely and they perfectly fit in their role. Especially, the Prakash Belawadi playing the George Kutty character add some humour and real life touch in the film. The music in the film is likable, there are 4 tracks in the film and they all are placed in appropriate place and don’t make you bore.

If we talk about action in Airlift, there is a war situation in the film. You will see flying aircraft and tanks but there is no direct action in the film. It is real life story so adding direct action scenes are not a good thing. You will clearly see the country love and power of unity in the film. This is why the Airlift becomes successful to convince the whole situation.

If you ask me that you should watch Airlift of Not? I will say yes, of course, films like Airlift is not so common so you surely watch this film and try to take the social message from this film. Fans of Cinema is giving 4 stars out of 5 to Airlift.
